Three Months

My chubby chubs...tubs...babies...little ducky...
is THREE MONTHS (ish...since I am so late!) OLD.

There are certain things I want to make sure that I never forget since she is
literally changing every day.

I never want to forget:
-her chubby wrists that looks like she has a tight rubber band around them
-baby cellulite all throughout her thunder thighs
-trying to sit up at any chance she gets
-her high pitch squeels
-when she does her high pitch squeels she barely moves her mouth so you can't even tell it is coming from her.
-her baby mullet
-when she smiles she curls up her whole body
-when she starts crying in the car Patrick loudly sings "You are my sunshine" and replaces the word 'sunshine' with 'Avery.' She stops crying almost every time.
-when we sing our bedtime song, "Families are Forever," Patrick always replaces...'I always want to be with my only FAMILY' to....'I always want to be with my own AVERY'

This month Avery is almost rolling over, about to grow out of 6 month clothes and on the verge of full on laughing, right now we just get little giggles. I thought she found her hands last month but no she really went at it this month.I feel like she is on the edge of teething as she is drooling more, sucking on her fingers and rubbing her tongue constantly on gums.

This past month we moved to Menlo Park so little ducky finally has her own bedroom and I can work part time. This is our 6th place within the 4 years we have been married. I know we say this every time but I feel like we will be here for at least 2-3 years for Patrick to get his experience and then who knows what comes next. I am going to be training for a full marathon in July in San Francisco. Lots of fun things planned for this year!

Two Months

Avery is changing so much it's so crazy!! The sleeping is getting better and I don't feel as exhausted. I went back to work and cried the first two days ha ha...but seriously. She was six weeks and was so fussy. I had to hold her the whole time and could barely get anything done. We got her gas drops and that seemed to make a huge difference!! She does well on her Babywise schedule so I can do showings and get work done while she is napping. With working and taking care of chubby chubs, time goes by way too fast! I kept throwing myself a pity party telling Patrick, "We have no time for Christmas!" When we actually got out of the house to get a Christmas tree, the lot had already closed so we just gave up on trying. Since we were going to be at Patrick's parents house for Christmas, their tree became our tree.

Avery got her two months shot and I could not even watch. I was almost crying with her, thank goodness Patrick was with me. Now we can actually call Avery Chubby chubs as she is in the 99th percentile for height and 95 for weight! That's my girl!

This month Avery...

met Santa for the first time...

found her hands...

met great Nana and Pop...

had tummy time with dad...

still fought to sleep...
(we have staring contests when rocking her to sleep)

(ssooo stubborn she keeps her one eye open.
We will touch it closed a few times and it just pops right open!)

(She refuses to sleep so much that she NEVER lays her
head down on our shoulders! ha ha)

still have Nana and Pop wrapped around their finger tips...

loves hanging out in the bouncy...

and wearing Christmas jammies...

(that one time I actually did my hair AND make up when going out)

loves her bath time...

and taking walks in her baby carrier.

Avery also got her baby tears. Sometimes she is just so fussy that we just have to let her cry for a little. Little as in...10 minutes. It is so sad when we get her after and her face is covered in baby tears. We are such new parents that we are still melting when she smiles, sneezes or curls her lip up when she cries. Our poor second kid is probably going to get barely any pictures and half as much attention.

One Month

Our little chunk is growing so quick! I have never been so exhausted and tired in my life! I know one day I will sleep again. She is just getting her nights and days back to where they should be, thank goodness!! For awhile I was up from anywhere between 12AM-4AM. It's amazing what lack of sleep does to your emotions. Luckily my sister, Alyssa had her baby a few weeks after me so we are always supporting each other at odd hours of the night. Patrick is so sweet and understanding when I break down crying at weird things such as wanting to make banana bread but not being able to get to it haha It's funny now but in the moment it's devastating. Thankfully for everyone,  I am able to get more sleep at night. I have been trying to follow the Babywise schedule to help her sleep through the night. I would be happy to hear any tips for sleeping. I have a deeper gratitude for my mom for not only raising 7 kids back to back but cholicky twins.

Avery is so alert all the time which can make putting her down for a nap so hard. She is so nosy and doesn't want to miss out on anything. When I put her on my shoulder to burp, she has such a strong neck that she pushes away from us to look around. She is a good little eater. I was really nervous about breastfeeding and how it was going to go and how it would hurt. Avery was able to latch right away and I have had no problems with nursing her. At 4 weeks I introduced the bottle to her and she took it no problem. She loves sucking (not to mention, a hard suck) as it is soothing to her so a few days after she was born we gave her a binky. It was either get our pinkys ripped off or give her the binky.

We took pictures at JCP and she was of course she was wide awake the whole time! These pictures make me laugh because they are just typical her. I took some pictures at home but shortly gave up because she would fall asleep but then once I moved her to the basket she would be wide awake and then shortly start fussing. It was not worth interrupting a nap for.

In one month we have learned some fun things about baby Avery

Likes: Being outside, sleeping in her swing, eating, sucking, starring at lights, being swaddled, bath time, sleeping on mom and dad's chest, car rides, being carried in her baby Bjorn, being rocked to sleep and being talked to.

Dislikes: Loosing her binky, changing her clothes, gas pains, sleeping in her co-sleeper, and taking naps.

I look forward to more smiles and not just gassy ones. She has definitely changed our routine around. The words 'I'm bored' are no longer in my vocabulary. I return to work on Monday and not looking forward to it. I am grateful to have a job that allows me to have her with me. There is no way I would be comfortable with someone watching her this young so I could go to work. We are enjoying her 'first' holidays and excited to start some new traditions.
