First Family Photos

My talented friend Rachel took some fun family photos for us now that Avery is a year!
She is based in the Bay Area, check out her site.

12 months

We survived the first year!
So many mixed emotions of your little baby becoming a toddler. The older she is the more fun we have. We are always way too happy when she reaches new milestones and do new things. Goodbye to the nicknames "tubby tubs" and "chubby chubs."

This month Avery started to mimic us, when we say "yeah" she says "dah." When we say "uh oh" she quietly tries to repeat it in a high pitch voice. We melt over it and make her say it a million times a day! Avery has been saying "momomomom" especially when I am not around. She is walking like a champ which means way more fails. She loves dogs and walking around outside. We had fun having an ice cream birthday party for her.
Heres to more years to come!

Avery quickly transitioned from learning how to pull herself up to taking a few steps. With her new abilities we had to lower her crib. She has a hard time falling asleep as she just wants to stand up and look around. She has two top teeth poking through which is another reason why she isn't sleeping well. Avery works up a sweat so easy by just standing up for long periods of time or crawling around.

Avery is continually pulling herself up onto her knees and pulling down anything she can find in sight. She always seems to be hot and sweaty with all of her constant crawling and moving around. Putting her down for naps and bedtime are so sad as she crawls to the edge of the crib closest to the door, pulls herself up and just yells at you to pick her up.

Avery has three teeth coming in and handling it like a champ. At times she may not nap as well due to it and eating solids has slowed down. When she doesn't want something she smacks it out of the way or throws it on the ground so we are trying to teach her signs to stop that. She just smiles and laughs at us when we do it. Diaper changes are impossible without a bottle and changing clothes is a challenge no matter what.

She is no longer army crawling and now crawls on her knees. She LOVES her books and will use her feet/legs to hold them up as she flips through them. She follows us from room to room and putting everything in her mouth. We are constantly fishing things out of her mouth. She hates sitting and loves to walk while holding our hands.

Still in the 99th percentile for weight and height, weighing in at 24 pounds! Avery started doing this growl laugh and will also breath in really hard then cough. She hit a big milestone and started crawling on the fourth of July. I did not expect it, she just started moving forward to grab my phone. She is a army crawler and has not figured out how to use her knees. She also started waving which half the time consists of sticking her arm straight out and sometimes move it. When laying Avery down for a nap/bed she loves to pull the strings that tie the bumper and play with them. We just about died when she went to let out a sneeze but instead giggled. Can you say, typical new parents?!

Avery started to reach out and put her arms up when she wants to be picked up.
She found herself in the mirror and could not stop kissing herself, it was adorable! When trying to set her down on the ground she locks her legs and just wants to stand up. I love when I give her something new she inspects it for awhile moving it back and forth in her hands and then puts it in her mouth. She is sleeping through the night and has started giving us baby kisses. We ask for them all the time!! It consists of opening her mouth wide and leaning forward.
